How to activate cookies


General Information
The "Cookie" lends your browser (e.g. Microsoft Internet Explorer, Netscape Navigator, Mozilla, Konqueror, Opera) a memory, which does not lose the stored data after swapping to the next webpage or after a restart of your computer. If you adjusted your browser in such a way that it accepts cookies, it puts a small file down on your PC when you are calling certain webpages, when sending form data or when doing other user inputs (mouse/keyboard).Either cookies are stored only for the duration of the session into the volatile main memory of your PC (so-called Session Cookies) or permanently on your hard disk (so-called Permanent Cookies).

Session Cookies validate only for the duration of your internet session and will be deleted afterwards immediately.

Permanent Cookies has a validity period given by the owner of the internet site and get archived on your hard disk in the in the following directories. There you can examine the contents of the cookies with a text editor (e.g. Note Pad) and also delete Cookies.

The Internet Explorer archives Cookies in the following directories:

Win95/98: C:\Win\Cookies
Win NT: C:\WINNT\profiles\Benutzername\Cookies
Win2000/XP: C:\Dokumente und Einstellungen\Benutzername\Cookies

Cookies from CTDI Nethouse Services:
On our Website at present only Session Cookies are used, which are absolutely necessary however for the use of our eTOS service.

Presettings for the use of eTOS:
Microsoft Internet Explorer:
Please click in the header menu of the Internet Explorer to "Extras" and select submenu "Internet Options...", choose "data security". Click please on the category "Websites" to the Button "Edit...". Please enter the addresses prefix to the input field "Website addresses" the following text: "www.ctdi",click "permit" and repeat the same procedure for the prefix "www1.ctdi". Then press afterwards all "OK" Buttons, until the option window is closed.
 
Mozilla:
Please click to "Tools" in the header menu, then to "Cookie Manager" and then activate the option "Unblock Cookies from this Website".
Netscape Navigator:
Select "Edit" in the header menu and select "Presettings...". Click to the left hand triangle beside the category "privacy and security". Then click please to subcategory "Cookies". Then activate in "Guidelines for Cookies" at least the option "accept only to the original site sent Cookies" or "accept all Cookies". Afterwards click to the "OK" button.
